SOMEONE LIKE YOU is a sweet friends-to-lovers, single-parent romance with a little angst, some humour and a whole lot of sexy.
Jake and Dorian are super hot, they can’t keep their hands off one another. Of course, nothing is ever as it seems and life isn’t always as easy as falling in love with your best friend…
Book: Someone Like You
Author: Alexandra Silva
Dorian Anson is my friend. She’s the only person who’s ever questioned my smiles. My jokes. The one liners that have our friends shaking their heads at me.
I’ve lived my life on those smiles. They never failed me, until her.I wasn’t counting on her when I designed my front. I never imagined the possibility of someone like her coming into my life. The wild hair, the kind smile and those eyes that see everything. She was the girl with the beautiful soul, pretty face and whole heart. But hearts aren’t made to stay whole.I watched hers break. I watched her tears fall. I watched as her world tilted on its axis and shattered at her feet.
She sees me, all parts of me—the truths I try to hide, the secrets I bury. What’s mine and what’s not.
She sees it all, and I can only hope the truth isn’t too much. That she won’t walk away.
That she won’t leave me…alone.
We both have a past. We have ghosts. We have fears.
I’m hoping that somehow in the end, we’ll have each other too.
I’ve never needed anyone before her, and I know I’ll never want anyone else after her.
There is no one like her.
My pretty girl.

Review by Tara
“I still had a hundred and one questions to ask him, things that he probably didn’t even realise I’d picked up on. Probably things he didn’t realise he’d said. But right now, all I wanted was to give him a little bit of the reprieve he’d given me all those years ago when we’d sat on a stone bench together.”
Dorian and Jake’s story has always called to me in Alexandra’s other two books, No One Like You and For You. Always in the background, their relationship was constantly there, but never noticed. Until now!! Someone Like You portrays the struggles of life and death, losing and loving someone.
“Doing nothing but watching a film, or eating a takeaway…or enjoying what silence sounded like with another person next to me. I couldn’t give all those things up. More importantly, I couldn’t give up the friendship that we’d established over the last several years.”
Dorian has loved, and Dorian has lost. She is living for her son, but has forgotten who she is. Her light went out, and her only beacon of hope is her friend Jake. Being there with Dorian through her roughest times in life, Jake can’t help but wonder a time when he wasn’t in love with her. But loving is easier from afar, and taking the leap is a game changer. Can these two friends make something more? Can Jake ignite Dorian’s spark again?
“It should’ve surprised me that he had those lines in him, but for some reason they felt so worn in and homey. It was like he’d said them to me a world of times.”
Holy mother of pearl!! Someone Like You is combustible hot!! It is also a rollercoaster of emotions. From laughter of close friends camaraderie to heartbreaking sadness, Alexandra pours her all into Dorian and Jake’s story. I would definitely read the three books in order, so you miss out on any of the relationships and stories of the characters!
MEET THE AUTHORAlexandra Silva is a lover of words and romance. She blames the classics and a nutty English teacher for her obsession with books and fiction. Come rain or shine with either coffee or wine in hand you can find her with her nose stuck in a book and her head in the clouds. She lives in London outnumbered by her very loud boys, with her very own hero and their two wild cats—Jack and Jill.
