Money makes the world go round, but it destroys lives just as easily.
A family shattered.
Twins torn apart by greed and jealousy.
But now the game has changed and every action has its consequences.
A dead man’s wishes shouldn’t have had the power to ruin both of our lives, I’ve picked a side and now it’s time to fight back.
Review by Tara
“They say revenge is sweet, but the best form of revenge is to be better than those you seek justice from.”
Omg! Yes!! The Heir is undeniably incredible! Gemma shows us Carrigan’s side of the story! The Heir will pull on your heart strings and have you cheering for Carrigan and her friends!
“This is the right thing to do. The only thing to do, and for the first time in my life I need to grow a pair of balls and stop being such a coward.”
Being raised under extremely strict and unusually expectations, Carrigan has lived a lie. When her parents take their meddling too far, Carrigan decides to risk everything and stop her parents once and for all. Carson has grown close to Tally, Carrigan’s twin. But when Carrigan needs help, it’s Carson she goes to. He must see past fake personas and see the real girl Carrigan is.
“I’ll be an adult tomorrow, but for today I want to be a child who gets to hide beneath the comforter, away from real life and the monsters that live there.”
I read The Heir in about 4 hours! It’s truly amazing! Gemma writes about teenage angst so well, I could not put the book down! It was nice to see things from Carrigan and Carson’s point of views. Watching the characters personalities and friendships grow and mature is addicting. Please read The Spare (part 1 and 2 before reading The Heir!)
“I regret walking away from a fortune. I regret ignoring my parents and I regret making myself forgettable again.”
