**Release Blitz** The Last Chorus by Nikki Ashton

The Last Chorus by Nikki Ashton

When the last chorus ends it’s time to sing a new song
Grief: To feel deep, acute sorrow or distress
Time is a great healer they say, whoever the hell they are.
Time hasn’t done me any favours though.
Despite my fame, wealth, Rockstar status I lost it all; my everything. My wife and son are gone leaving me lost in a dark grief that has swallowed me whole.
My family and friends think it’s time I moved on, started to get out of bed and live my life again. I think they need to keep their opinions to themselves.
I’m Beau Bradley, lead singer of Warrior Creek and I’ll decide when I’m ready for life again.

Fear: an unpleasant, often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger
Take deep breaths and appreciate my courage is how to face my fear, they say.
Whoever wrote that has no idea how scary facing my fear is.
As a single mum of a gorgeous, five-year-old boy who doesn’t speak means life can be suffocatingly quiet. Silence follows me everywhere I go. Sometimes it would be nice to have someone to share it all with, to laugh and talk with but I can’t let anyone in.
I’m Simone Addison though and I don’t let anyone close.

Can two strangers sing the final chorus of their past and help each other find a new song to sing? Or will the misery of their mistakes snatch away their chance of happiness before it’s even begun?

The Last Chorus, a story of love in its many guises.

Tara’s 5***** Review

“I couldn’t believe how hard my heart had been beating the whole time. Thudding beats and sweaty palms all because I’d had to open the door to a stranger.”
Beau has lost everything he has ever loved, his wife and his little boy. It is something that you do not come back from, and Beau has no intentions of moving on with his life. Ignoring friends and family members, Beau locks himself away with his guilt and broken heart. When a ball shows up in his yard, Beau thinks he has finally lost it. But a knock on his door changes his life forever. Being new to the neighbourhood, Simone (Sim) has never seen anyone living next door. When she goes to retrieve her son’s ball from the house next door, Sim cannot believe who lives next to her, the lead singer of Warrior Creek. Dealing with demons from her past, that still haunt her present, Sim is weary to trust anyone, and letting someone new in her life is huge. But a connection of broken hearts draws Sim and Beau closer, and their unlikely friendship brings peace to their lives.
“He was a famous rock star, and I was just a single mother with enough baggage to fill the hold of a passenger plane. Why would it even cross my mind that we could be anything else?”
Nikki hit it out of the park with this book! The Last Chorus will tug on every single one of your emotions. I openly sobbed multiple times while reading this book. The amount of pain that Simone and Beau have both experienced is heart breaking. All Beau can see is the end, but Simone brings him a glimpse of hope. Sweet Ethan is a “buffer” for Simone’s and Beau’s relationship, but the little guy is also struggling. Seeing the connection between these three characters will bring a smile to your face and tears to your eyes. I highly recommend The Last Chorus! Just have the tissues close, as you will be so immersed in this story, each word will hold your attention from the start to the end of the book!
“ This isn’t moving on, Beau,” she whispered as the lump grew in the centre of my chest. “All you’re doing is singing the last chorus before you start a new song.”
