Princess Raina’s beloved country is in trouble, and the only way for her to save it is to marry a Prince with coin to spare. Unfortunately, she’s already in love with her bodyguard Gavin…

At the age of twenty-one, I am to be introduced to society, complete with a royal ball, where I am intended to find a suitable prince.

Mostly, this sounds like fun, until I find out the ball is a ruse. My suitors are under scrutiny for other reasons, and I’m bait.

Apparently, our wealth has been stolen. Our country is practically destitute. It’s my duty to marry us out of the hole, while my bodyguard is supposed to ferret out the thief who has put us here.

Everyone has a secret, and mine is at least as scandalous as most.

I’m in love with my bodyguard. I wonder what he’s hiding behind those dark blue eyes, and I’ll do whatever it takes to find out.

When I was hired to guard the princess, I thought it would be an easy job.

Boy, was I wrong.

Her safety is my mission, but Raina’s no delicate flower, and she doesn’t think she needs my protection.

She’s smart and beautiful with a naughty streak that makes me want to claim her for myself. However, if I give in to her charms, I could find myself on the wrong side of a firing squad.

Besides, I’m a hard man who has seen it all, and done unspeakable things in the service of my country. She deserves better, so I focus on tracking the person who has stolen her fortune.

I pray I can find the money. Because if I do, the princess won’t have to marry for money.

She might be able to follow her heart…

Tara’s 4**** Review
True love always wins.
“Denial is how we royals have survived so long. We don’t acknowledge what is right in front of us. Instead, we bury it. Where even we can’t find it. If I’m going to survive this cruel, opulent world I was born into, I’m going to have to learn to do the same thing.”
Princess Raina has had her life planned out for her by the King and Queen. Because of this, Raina has been sheltered from the world. When a scandal rocks their kingdom, the King and Queen force Raina to marry. But she cannot marry just anyone. The catch is, her future husband must be rich. But when Raina has feeling for another man, she must try to bring her kingdom’s scandal to rest, and go after the man of her dreams. Gavin is a protector. Hired on by the kingdom, his job was to protect the King himself. But when trouble rocks the kingdom, his duties shift to protect Princess Raina. This new role also brings forth new feelings and emotions, which Gavin must keep hidden. When he agrees to help Raina save the kingdom, sparks fly and secrets emerge.
“One after the other, they parade her around the dance floor like she’s a prized mare. All chomping at the bit to secure her for their own. To claim the princess and all that comes with being her husband.”
Royal Inheritance is a fun, and lust filled read. The relationship between Raina and Gavin will have you alternating between smiling and biting your fist. There are some intense moments mixed in with heartfelt ones. McKenna does an excellent job intertwining royal expectations, and everyday life. Raina is an incredibly strong and funny woman, who is very easy to like. And Gavin….sigh…is a true knight in shining armour.
“I wonder if little girls who dream of being princesses, if they knew of all the nitty-gritty, if they’d still wish to be of royal blood.”
